All Sunnybank athletes, Tiny Tots and Triallists are welcome to compete at the Twilight Pentathlon Meet with Mt. Gravatt Little A’s on Saturday 10 September at SAF (training track behind QEII stadium, Nathan)

3.00pm – Gates open & Set up

3.15pm – Taking new registrations, collect sign-on gear, purchase uniforms

3.45pm – Warm up Athletes

4.00pm – Start Competition

No canteen – Bring your own food & drink plus bring jumpers/warm clothes as it gets cold late afternoon.

Due to the current condition of the oval we are cancelling competition for today. The safety of our athletes and the comfort of our families always comes first. The oval is very wet and, even if the rain stops, won’t dry out enough to hold a safe competition this avy. The competition day won’t be lost, we’ll reschedule it to a reserve day later in the season

Our season will commence with the following dates:

Sunday 21 August – Sign-on session   12:00 – 3:00pm – Sunnybank SHS, Gager Street entrance

27 August – Week 1 Competition   12.45 – 4:00pm

All sessions will be held at our home ground of Sunnybank High School (oval), out in the sunshine and fresh air.  There will also be ample shade shelters placed around the oval.

This season we are allowing Mt Gravatt Little Athletics Centre to use our field for their Centre Competition, as they are unable to use their home ground. Their season runs July to December, where ours (and all other South East Queensland Clubs) runs August to March 2023. When we start in August we will all join in together on Saturday afternoons but all of the results will be separate and only count within the individual clubs.

We are excited about this opportunity where our athletes will have fun competing with Mt Gravatt athletes and making new friends at the same time.

Our 2022/2023 Season Information and Sign-on session will be held at Sunnybank High School (oval), Gager St, Sunnybank on Sunday 21 August 2022 from 1200 -1500. On-line registrations will be open 01 August 2022.

Having reviewed the latest weather forecast, road closures and emergency services warnings, the McDonald’s Combined Events Championships has been cancelled for the remainder of the weekend.
This decision has been made with utmost consideration for the safety of the athletes and people travelling to the competition.
LAQ will be looking to reschedule this event to a later date and will advise when a final decision has been made.

Todays LAQ McDonalds Combined Events Competition has been cancelled. The LAQ Board will be making a decision on tomorrow’s events by 1:00pm today. Updates will be posted on the LAQ and Sunnybank webpages and Facebook pages. Please keep safe everyone

Centre Competition today, 22.01.22, is cancelled due to the ongoing intermittent showers, the condition of the grounds and the depletion of Centre Officials due to holidays and COVID Contact.

This Saturday is our opportunity to acknowledge the amazing support that COLES provides for Little Athletics Centres Australia wide by having some “Everything Coles” Events! We’ll have the Coles Banana Baton Shuttle Relays, The “Fill your Coles Basket” Relay Race, The Coles Red Spot Special Run Off” and more.

“Thanks to Coles, a very special athlete is also going to join us for the fun. Australian Sprint Champion Bree Masters, is coming along to share the joy that is Little A’s

We’re starting at 1:00 pm this week, so let’s be on time to be able to make the most of our COLES round everyone

This Saturday will see the start of our 2021/2021 Season Centre Competition. Info and registrations will be available from 1:00 pm, notices and warm ups from 1:30 pm and events from 2:00 pm. The first event for all age groups, for the first 6 weeks, will be a training session to ensure athletes become confident and competent to perform their events and can aim for those all important PB’s.

Sunnybank’s registrations never close, we are happy to see athletes and families join in at any time throughout the season.
