Below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

What is Little Athletics?

Little Athletics is a foundation sport for children aged 3 to 17 years. Each week, children take part in activities like running, jumping, and throwing. It helps them stay healthy, learn new skills, and make friends.

When is the Little Athletics season?

The season runs from August to March.
We meet on Saturday afternoons during the season.
Please arrive by 1:30 PM so your child is ready to begin.

What is Tiny Tots?

Tiny Tots is for children aged 3 to 5 years.
Your child must already be 3 years old before they can start.
Tiny Tots take part in fun, play-based activities that help develop basic skills like running, jumping, and throwing — the focus is on learning and having fun.

Where is Sunnybank Little Athletics?

Our Centre is located at:
Macgregor State School for the 2026-2027 season!

Can my child try before we commit?

Yes! We offer a 2-week trial period on 22nd and 29th of August 2026.
This means your child can come along and try Little Athletics for two weeks before you decide to register for the full season.

How do I register my child?

You can register online through the registration link on our website closer to the season start.
We also hold in-person sign-up days — check our Facebook page for times and dates.

What does my child wear?

All athletes wear the Sunnybank Little Athletics collared shirt.
Uniforms are available to buy at the club.
Children must wear closed-in running shoes for safety.

Do parents need to help?

Yes, Little Athletics is run by volunteers.
We ask parents to help with events each week.
You do not need experience — we will show you what to do.

Are there trophies or awards?

Yes. At the end of the season, we hold a Presentation Day.
All children are recognised with a medal or trophy for their participation and improvement.

What if it rains?

If it is not safe to run events (for example, rain or storms), we will cancel the meet.
We will post updates on Facebook.
